( وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، ثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو النَّمَرِيُّ، ثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، قَالَ: قَالَ أَيُّوبُ:
وَجَدْتُ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ بِالْقَضَاءِ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ مِنْهُ فِرَارًا، وَأَشَدَّهُمْ مِنْهُ فَرَقًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَمَا أَدْرَكْتُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَعْلَمَ بِالْقَضَاءِ مِنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، لَا أَدْرِي مَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ. فَكَانَ يُرَادُ عَلَى الْقَضَاءِ، فَيَفِرُّ إِلَى الشَّامِ مَرَّةً، وَيَفِرُّ إِلَى الْيَمَامَةِ مَرَّةً، وَكَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ إِلَى الْبَصْرَةِ، كَانَ كَالْمُسْتَخْفِي حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ
