( وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثَنَا ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ، أَنْبَأَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ:
أَنَّ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنَ أَبِي جَهْلٍ تَرَجَّلَ يَوْمَ كَذَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ: لَا تَفْعَلْ؛ فَإِنَّ قَتْلَكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ شَدِيدٌ. فَقَالَ: خَلِّ عَنِّي يَا خَالِدُ؛ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَابِقَةٌ، وَإِنِّي وَأَبِي كُنَّا مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَشَى حَتَّى قُتِلَ
