أَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْبِسْطَامِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو يَعْلَى، ثَنَا مُصْعَبٌ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، ثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ:

أَمَّرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ مُؤْتَةَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ ؓ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنْ قُتِلَ زَيْدٌ فَجَعْفَرٌ، وَإِنْ قُتِلَ جَعْفَرٌ فَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ ". قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: كُنْتُ مَعَهُمْ فِي تِلْكَ الْغَزْوَةِ فَالْتَمَسْنَا جَعْفَرًا، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ فِي الْقَتْلَى، وَوَجَدْنَا فِيمَا أَقْبَلَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ بِضْعًا وَتِسْعِينَ بَيْنَ ضَرْبَةٍ وَرَمْيَةٍ
