  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

    machine translationA rejected (munkar) hadith.

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationThis is a hadith for which no chain has been established, and Jābir al-Juʿfī is criticized (maṭʿūn fīh).

  • ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī

machine translationThey agreed on the weakness of Jābir al-Juʿfī.

machine translationIbn al-Jawzī said: As for Jābir al-Juʿfī, al-Thawrī and Shuʿbah declared him trustworthy (thiqah), and that is enough for you from the two of them. So how can he say this and then relate agreement on his weakness? This is a contradiction between his statements. He said: Abū ʿĀzib's name is Muslim b. ʿAmr, as Abū Ḥātim and others said, and he is unknown (ghayr maʿrūf). Others said his name is Muslim b. Arāk, as his naming was mentioned previously.
