The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bought a horse from a man of the Bedouins, and asked him to follow him so that he might pay him the price of his horse. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked quickly and the Bedouin lagged behind. Men began to stop the Bedouin and bargain with him over the horse, not knowing that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had already bought it, until some of them offered the Bedouin more than the price for which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had bought the horse. When he offered him more, the Bedouin called out to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "If you are buying this horse, buy it, or I will sell it." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard the Bedouin's call, he stood until the Bedouin came to him. He said to him: "Have I not bought it from you?" The Bedouin said: "No, by Allah, I have not sold it to you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Yes, I have bought it from you." The people began to gather around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Bedouin as the two of them went back and forth. The Bedouin began to say: "Bring a witness to testify that I sold to you." Whenever one of the Muslims came, he said to the Bedouin: "Woe to you! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only ever spoke the truth." Then Khuzaymah came and listened to what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Bedouin were saying back and forth. The Bedouin began to say: "Bring witnesses to testify that I sold to you." Khuzaymah said: "I testify that you have sold it to him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to Khuzaymah and said: "On what basis do you testify?" He said: "On the basis of your truthfulness, O Messenger of Allah." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made Khuzaymah's testimony equal to the testimony of two men.
