( وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِي بِخَطِّ يَدِي، عَنْ أَبِي دَاوُدَ قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ أُتِيَ بِفَرْوَةِ كِسْرَى، فَوُضِعَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَفِي الْقَوْمِ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ، قَالَ: فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْهِ سِوَارَيْ كِسْرَى بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، فَجَعَلَهُمَا فِي يَدِهِ، فَبَلَغَا مَنْكِبَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُمَا فِي يَدَيْ سُرَاقَةَ، قَالَ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ، سِوَارَيْ كِسْرَى بْنِ هُرْمُزَ فِي يَدِ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ أَعْرَابِيٍّ مِنْ بَنِي مُدْلِجٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَكَ ﷺ كَانَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُصِيبَ مَالًا، فَيُنْفِقَهُ فِي سَبِيلِكَ وَعَلَى عِبَادِكَ، وَزَوَيْتَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهُ؛ نَظَرًا مِنْكَ لَهُ وَخِيَارًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ ؓ كَانَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُصِيبَ مَالًا، فَيُنْفِقَهُ فِي سَبِيلِكَ وَعَلَى عِبَادِكَ، فَزَوَيْتَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهُ؛ نَظَرًا مِنْكَ لَهُ وَخِيَارًا، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ هَذَا مَكْرًا مِنْكَ بِعُمَرَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: تَلَى أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ بَلْ لا يَشْعُرُونَ.
