( قَالَ الْوَاقِدِيُّ ) وَحَدَّثَنِي بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مِسْمَارٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
حَضَرْتُ مُؤْتَةَ، فَبَارَزَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ، فَأَصَبْتُهُ، وَعَلَيْهِ بَيْضَةٌ لَهُ فِيهَا يَاقُوتَةٌ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ هِمَّتِي إِلَّا الْيَاقُوتَةَ، فَأَخَذْتُهَا، فَلَمَّا رَجَعْتُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِهَا فَنَفَّلَنِيهَا، فَبِعْتُهَا زَمَنَ عُثْمَانَ ؓ بِمِائَةِ دِينَارٍ، فَاشْتَرَيْتُ بِهَا حَدِيقَةً
