The wife of Saʿd b. al-Rabīʿ came with her two daughters from Saʿd and said: "O Messenger of God, these are the two daughters of Saʿd b. al-Rabīʿ. Their father was killed as a martyr with you on the day of Uḥud, and their uncle has taken their wealth entirely and left them no wealth, and they cannot be married unless they have wealth." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "God will decide in this matter." Then God revealed the inheritance rulings, and he sent for their uncle and summoned him, and said: "Give the two daughters of Saʿd two-thirds, and give their mother one-eighth, and what remains is yours."
