I said: "O Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have gone off with the reward." He said: "Do you not pray, fast and strive?" He said: I said: "Yes, but they do as we do: they pray, fast and strive, and they give charity while we do not give charity." He said: "In you there is much charity. In the surplus of your eloquence for the one who is tongue-tied, expressing his need for him, there is charity; and in the surplus of your hearing for the one who is hard of hearing, expressing his need for him, there is charity; and in the surplus of your sight for the one who is blind, guiding him on the road, there is charity; and in your strength for the weak, helping him, there is charity; and in your removing harm from the road there is charity; and in your intimacy with your wife there is charity." He said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, does one of us come to his desire and is rewarded?" He said: "Do you see that if you had put it in what is not lawful, would there have been a sin upon you?" He said: I said: "Yes." He said: "So you count the evil, but you do not count the good?"
