( وَأَخْبَرَنَا ) أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ نُجَيْدٍ، أَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، ثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ
أَنَّ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ أَهْدَى إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ مِنْ ثَمَرَةِ أَرْضِهِ، فَرَدَّهَا، فَقَالَ أُبَيٌّ: لِمَ رَدَدْتَ عَلَيَّ هَدِيَّتِي وَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنِّي مِنْ أَطْيَبِ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ثَمَرَةً ؟ خُذْ عَنِّي مَا تَرُدُّ عَلَيَّ هَدِيَّتِي، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ ؓ أَسْلَفَهُ عَشَرَةَ آلَافِ دِرْهَمٍ
