حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمٌ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ وَإِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمًا صَائِمًا فَلَا يَرْفُثْ وَلَا يَجْهَلْ: فَإِنْ أَحَدٌ شَتَمَهُ أَوْ فَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ. قَالَ بَهْزٌ: فَإِنِ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَهُ أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ

✧ Fasting is a shield. When one of you is fasting on a day, he should not engage in obscene speech or act ignorantly. If someone insults him, or if a man insults him, let him say: “I am fasting.” Bahz said: If a man insults him or fights him, let him say: “I am fasting.”
