حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ابْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ بِالشَّيْءِ مَا يُحِبُّ أَنَّهُ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ، وَإِنَّ لَهُ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ، قَالَ: ذَاكَ مَحْضُ الْإِيمَانِ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  4. Dhakwān
  5. Abū Hurayrah
  6. al-Nabī ﷺ

✧ They said: O Messenger of Allah, one of us has thoughts about something that he would not like to speak of, even if he had everything on earth. He said: That is pure faith.
