Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade me from wearing gold rings, from wearing qassī garments, from reciting while bowing and prostrating, and from wearing saffron-dyed clothing.

My father said: Those who narrated from his father did not say "I heard ʿAlī" except some of them, and these three are of unknown reliability (mastūr), and an addition is accepted from a trustworthy narrator (thiqah). Ibn ʿAjlān is trustworthy (thiqah), and al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿUthmān is not strong (laysa bi-l-qawī). Usāmah was not satisfied until he narrated from Ibrāhīm, and then narrated from ʿAbdullāh b.
