✧ While a woman among those before you was nursing her son, a proud horseman with fine attire passed by her. The woman said, 'O Allah, do not let this son of mine die until I see him like this horseman, on a horse like this.' The infant left the breast and said, 'O Allah, do not make me like this horseman.' Then he returned to the breast and suckled. Then they passed by an Abyssinian or Zanj corpse being dragged. She said, 'I seek refuge in Allah for my son from dying the death of this Abyssinian or Zanj woman.' He left the breast and said, 'O Allah, cause me to die the death of this Abyssinian or Zanj woman.' His mother said, 'O my son, I asked your Lord to make you like that horseman, and you said, "O Allah, do not make me like him." And I asked your Lord not to cause you to die the death of this Abyssinian or Zanj woman, but you asked your Lord to cause you to die her death.' The infant said, 'You asked your Lord to make me like a man of the people of the Fire. The Abyssinian or Zanj woman's people used to insult her, beat her, and wrong her, and she would say, "Allah is sufficient for me, Allah is sufficient for me."'
