حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الْعُقُوبَةِ مَا طَمِعَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُ الْكَافِرُ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ مَا قَنَطَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ، خَلَقَ اللهُ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ، فَوَضَعَ رَحْمَةً وَاحِدَةً بَيْنَ خَلْقِهِ يَتَرَاحَمُونَ بِهَا، وَعِنْدَ اللهِ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ رَحْمَةً

Translation

✧ If the believer knew what punishment is with Allah, no one would hope for Paradise. And if the disbeliever knew what mercy is with Allah, no one would despair of Paradise. Allah created one hundred mercies; He placed one mercy among His creation by which they show compassion to one another, and with Allah are ninety-nine mercies.
