حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ، فَإِنْ قِيلَ هَدِيَّةٌ، أَكَلَ، وَإِنْ قِيلَ صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ: كُلُوا، وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ
Translation

✧ When food was brought to the Messenger of God ﷺ from other than his own household, he would ask about it. If it was said to be a gift, he ate. If it was said to be charity, he said: 'Eat,' and he did not eat.
