حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
لَا تُوَاصِلُوا. قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي. قَالَ: فَلَمْ يَنْتَهُوا عَنِ الْوِصَالِ، فَوَاصَلَ بِهِمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَيْلَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَأَوُا الْهِلَالَ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَوْ تَأَخَّرَ الْهِلَالُ لَزِدْتُكُمْ، كَالْمُنَكِّلِ بِهِمْ
Translation

✧ Do not practice wisal. They said: O Messenger of Allah, but you practice wisal. He said: I am not like you; I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. He said: They did not stop practicing wisal, so the Prophet ﷺ practiced wisal with them for two days and two nights, then they saw the new moon. The Prophet ﷺ said: If the new moon had been delayed, I would have increased you—as if to rebuke them.
