✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: I am ruined, O Messenger of Allah. He said: And what is that? He said: I had intercourse with my wife during Ramadan. The Prophet ﷺ said: Can you find a slave to free? He said: No. He said: Are you able to fast two consecutive months? He said: No, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Can you feed sixty poor people? He said: I cannot find any, O Messenger of Allah. He said: So the Prophet ﷺ was brought an 'araq—and the 'araq is a basket containing dates—and he said: Go and give this in charity. He said: To one poorer than me? By the One who sent you with truth, there is no household between its two lava tracts more in need of it than us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed, then said: Go and take it to your family.
