حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

تُسْتَأْمَرُ الثَّيِّبُ، وَتُسْتَأْذَنُ الْبِكْرُ. قَالُوا: وَمَا إِذْنُهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: "تَسْكُتُ

Translation

  4. Abū Salamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman
  5. Abū Hurayrah
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ The previously married woman is to be consulted, and the virgin is to be asked for permission." They said: "And what is her permission, O Messenger of God?" He said: "That she remains silent."
