✧ The Muslims captured him and took him. Whenever he passed by him, he would say: What do you have, O Thumamah? He said: If you kill, you kill one of noble blood; and if you show favor, you show favor to one who is grateful; and if you want wealth, you will be given wealth. He said: And whenever he passed by him, he said: What do you have, O Thumamah? He said: If you show favor, you show favor to one who is grateful; and if you kill, you kill one of noble blood; and if you want wealth, you will be given wealth. He said: Then it occurred to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he released him, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, cast faith into his heart. He said: They took him to the well of the Ansar and washed him, and he accepted Islam. Then he said: O Muhammad, yesterday evening your face was the most hateful of faces to me, and your religion was the most hateful of religions to me, and your land was the most hateful of lands to me. But this morning your religion has become the most beloved of religions to me, and your face the most beloved of faces to me. Not a grain from al-Yamamah will come to Quraysh. Until Umar said: By Allah, he was in my eyes smaller than a pig, and now he is in my eyes greater than a mountain. He released him, and he went to al-Yamamah and withheld grain from them, so they cried out and became distressed, and they wrote: Do you command maintaining ties? He said: And he wrote to him.
