✧ Any prayer in which the Opening of the Book is not recited is deficient, then it is deficient, then it is deficient. Abu Hurayrah said: And before that, my beloved ﷺ said. He said: O Persian, recite the Opening of the Book, for I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: God, Mighty and Majestic, said: I have divided the prayer between Me and My servant (and one time he said: and My servant shall have what he asks). When he says: Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, He says: My servant has praised Me. When he says: The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, He says: My servant has glorified Me (or: My servant has extolled Me). When he says: Master of the Day of Judgment, He says: My servant has entrusted his affairs to Me. When he says: You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help, He says: This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he asks (and one time he said: what he asked of Me). Then His servant asks: Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned anger nor of those who go astray. He says: This is for My servant, and you shall have what you asked (and one time he said: and My servant shall have what he asked of Me).
