✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the opening takbir, he commenced, then said: 'I have turned my face to the One who originated the heavens and the earth, as a hanif and a Muslim, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. No partner has He, and with that I have been commanded, and I am of the Muslims.' — Abu al-Nadr said: 'and I am the first of the Muslims' — 'O Allah, there is no god but You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and I confess my sin, so forgive me all my sins; no one forgives sins but You. Guide me to the best of character; no one guides to its best but You. Turn away from me its evil; no one turns away its evil from me but You. Blessed are You and exalted. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You.' And when he bowed, he said: 'O Allah, to You I have bowed, in You I have believed, and to You I have submitted. My hearing, my sight, my brain, my bones, and my sinews are humbled to You.' And when he raised his head from the bowing, he said: 'Allah hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, to You belongs praise, as much as would fill the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and as much as You will of anything thereafter.' And when he prostrated, he said: 'O Allah, to You I have prostrated, in You I have believed, and to You I have submitted. My face has prostrated to the One who created it, formed it, and made its form beautiful, and split open its hearing and its sight. Blessed be Allah, the best of creators.' Then when he said the salam completing the prayer, he said: 'O Allah, forgive me what I have sent before and what I have delayed, what I have concealed and what I have made public, what I have done in excess, and what You know better than I. You are the Advancer and the Delayer. There is no god but You.'
