حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ

لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ: رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى هَذَا الْكِتَابَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ، وَرَجُلٌ أَعْطَاهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى مَالًا فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ

Translation

  5. Ibn ʿUmar
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ There is no envy except in two cases: a man to whom Allah, the Exalted, has given this Book and he stands with it through the hours of the night and the hours of the day, and a man to whom Allah, the Exalted, has given wealth and he gives it in charity through the hours of the night and the hours of the day.
