✧ During the lifetime of the Messenger of God ﷺ, when a man saw a dream he would relate it to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: I wished I might see a dream and relate it to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: I was a young unmarried lad, and I used to sleep in the mosque during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: I saw in a dream as if two angels took me and went with me to the Fire, and behold it was folded like the folding of a well, and it had two horns, and in it were people whom I recognized. I began to say: “I seek refuge in God from the Fire, I seek refuge in God from the Fire.” Another angel met them and said to me: “You will not be frightened.” I related it to Hafsa, and Hafsa related it to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: “What an excellent man Abdullah is, if only he would pray at night.” Salim said: So Abdullah would not sleep at night except a little.
