حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ
اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَضَعَ فَصَّهُ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ. قَالَ: فَبَيْنَا هُوَ يَخْطُبُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ قَالَ: إِنِّي كُنْتُ صَنَعْتُ خَاتَمًا، وَكُنْتُ أَلْبَسُهُ وَأَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ، وَإِنِّي وَاللهِ لَا أَلْبَسُهُ أَبَدًا. فَنَبَذَهُ، فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ took a ring of gold and placed its stone on the inside. He said: While he was delivering a sermon one day, he said: “I had fashioned a ring, and I used to wear it and put its stone on the inside, and by God, I will never wear it again.” So he threw it away, and the people threw away their rings.
