✧ He used to say "Allāhu akbar" three times when he mounted his riding beast, then say: "Glory be to the One Who subjected this to us, for we could not have subdued it ourselves, and to our Lord we shall surely return." Then he would say: "O Allāh, I ask You in this journey of mine for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allāh, make our journey easy and fold the distance for us. O Allāh, You are the Companion in travel and the Successor over the family. O Allāh, accompany us in our journey and look after our family." And when he returned to his family, he would say: "Returning, repentant, worshipping — if Allāh wills — and praising our Lord."
