Chain of narrators
- Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar
- Shuʿbah
- Thābit
✧ I asked Ibn Umar about nabidh made in earthenware jars: Did the Messenger of God ﷺ prohibit it? He said, 'They claimed that.' I said, 'The Prophet ﷺ prohibited it?' He said, 'They claimed that.' I said, 'Did you hear it from him?' He said, 'They claimed that.' So God turned me away from it. And whenever one of them was asked, 'Did you hear it?' he would become angry and start to argue with him.
