حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

مَرِضَ ابْنُ عَامِرٍ فَجَعَلُوا يُثْنُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَابْنُ عُمَرَ سَاكِتٌ، فَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنِّي لَسْتُ بِأَغَشِّهِمْ لَكَ، وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَقْبَلُ صَلَاةً بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ، وَلَا صَدَقَةً مِنْ غُلُولٍ

Translation

✧ Ibn Amir fell ill, and they began praising him while Ibn Umar was silent. He said: I am not the most deceitful of them to you, but the Messenger of God ﷺ said: God does not accept prayer without purification, nor charity from stolen spoils.
