حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَنَابٍ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

لَئِنْ تَرَكْتُمُ الْجِهَادَ، وَأَخَذْتُمْ بِأَذْنَابِ الْبَقَرِ، وَتَبَايَعْتُمْ بِالْعِينَةِ، لَيُلْزِمَنَّكُمُ اللهُ مَذَلَّةً فِي رِقَابِكُمْ، لَا تَنْفَكُّ عَنْكُمْ حَتَّى تَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللهِ وَتَرْجِعُوا إِلَى مَا كُنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ.

✧ If you abandon jihad, take hold of the tails of cattle, and engage in ‘inah sales, God will impose upon you humiliation in your necks, which will not depart from you until you repent to God and return to what you were upon.
