حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
إِنَّ مَثَلَ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ شَجَرَةٍ لَا يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا فَمَا هِيَ ؟ " قَالَ: فَقَالُوا وَقَالُوا، فَلَمْ يُصِيبُوا. وَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ: هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ، فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ ".

✧ The likeness of the believer is that of a tree whose leaves do not fall. What is it?" He said: They made guesses, but did not get it right. I wanted to say: It is the date-palm, but felt shy. The Prophet ﷺ said: "It is the date-palm."
