✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ treated the people of Khaybar by giving his wives a hundred saa' (unit of measurement) of dates and twenty saa' of barley every year for their expenses, from what was harvested. When Umar ibn al-Khattab became the leader, he divided the land of Khaybar and gave the wives of the Prophet ﷺ the choice to either have a portion of the land or to receive their annual expenses. They differed in their choices, some choosing to have a portion of the land and others choosing to receive their annual expenses. Hafsah and Aisha were among those who chose to receive their annual expenses.
