✧ Ibn Umar's son Abdullah b. Abdullah entered upon him while his back was in the house, and he said: 'I am not confident that this year there may be fighting among the people, and you might be turned away from the House. If only you would stay.' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out, and the disbelievers of Quraysh came between him and the House. If I am prevented from reaching it, I will do as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did.' He said: 'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example.' He said: 'I have made Umrah obligatory upon myself.' Then he traveled until when he was at al-Bayda', he said: 'I see the matter of the two as but one. I call you to witness that I have made Hajj obligatory along with my Umrah.' Then he arrived and performed a single tawaf for both.
