حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا حُرَيْثُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي حُمْرَانُعَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ

كُلُّ شَيْءٍ سِوَى ظِلِّ بَيْتٍ، وَجِلْفِ الْخُبْزِ، وَثَوْبٍ يُوَارِي عَوْرَتَهُ، وَالْمَاءِ، فَمَا فَضَلَ عَنْ هَذَا، فَلَيْسَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ فِيهِنَّ حَقٌّ

Translation

  4. Ḥumrānuʿan ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān

✧ Everything other than the shade of a house, a crust of bread, a garment that covers his private parts, and water—whatever is surplus beyond this, the son of Adam has no right in them.
