Chain of narrators
  1. Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar

✧ The man gets married and does not force her, meaning, and then he dies. Sa'id told us from Qatadah from Khalas and Abu Hassaan Al-A'raj from Abdullah ibn 'Utbah ibn Mas'ud that he said: They disagreed to Ibn Mas'ud regarding that for a month or close to that. They said it is necessary that you say about it. He said, "Indeed, I allocate for her a charity equivalent to the charity of a woman among her women, neither deficit nor extravagance. She has the inheritance, and she has the waiting period. If it is correct, it is from Allah Almighty, and if it is a mistake, it is from me and from Satan. Allah Almighty and His Messenger declare their innocence." Then a group from the most courageous among them, Al-Jarrash and Abu Sinan, stood up and said, "We testify that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled for a woman from among us, her name is Barw' bint Washiq, with a similar ruling as the one you ruled." Ibn Mas'ud was extremely happy when his statement aligned with the verdict of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
