حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ أَبِي فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ خِلَاسٍ وَعَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍأَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أُتِيَ فِي امْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَهَا رَجُلٌ فَلَمْ يُسَمِّ لَهَا صَدَاقًا فَمَاتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا قَالَ فَاخْتَلَفُوا إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَانَ زَوْجُهَا هِلَالَ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ ابْنَ مُرَّةَ قَالَ

أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أُتِيَ فِي امْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَهَا رَجُلٌ، فَلَمْ يُسَمِّ لَهَا صَدَاقًا، فَمَاتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا. قَالَ: فَاخْتَلَفُوا إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ... فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: كَانَ زَوْجُهَا هِلَالَ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: ابْنَ مُرَّةَ.. قَالَ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ: ( وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا هِلَالَ بْنَ مُرَّةَ الْأَشْجَعِيَّ )

✧ Ibn Masʿūd was consulted about a woman whom a man had married without naming a dower for her, and he died before consummating the marriage. He said: They kept coming to Ibn Masʿūd... then he mentioned the hadith, except that he said: Her husband was Hilāl—I think he said—b. Murrah. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb said: (Her husband was Hilāl b. Murrah al-Ashjaʿī.)
