حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْزِلًا، فَانْطَلَقَ إِنْسَانٌ إِلَى غَيْضَةٍ، فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا بَيْضَ حُمَّرَةٍ، فَجَاءَتِ الْحُمَّرَةُ تَرِفُّ عَلَى رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَرُؤُوسِ أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ: أَيُّكُمْ فَجَّعَ هَذِهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: أَنَا أَصَبْتُ لَهَا بَيْضًا، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: ارْدُدْهُ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ encamped at a place. A man went to a thicket and took from it some eggs of a red bird. The red bird came fluttering over the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the heads of his companions. He said: 'Which of you has distressed this one?' A man from the group said: 'I took some eggs from her.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Return it.'
