حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

الْأَيِّمُ أَوْلَى بِنَفْسِهَا مِنْ وَلِيِّهَا، وَالْبِكْرُ تُسْتَأْمَرُ فِي نَفْسِهَا، وَصَمْتُهَا إِقْرَارُهَا

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Mawhab
  3. Nāfiʿ b. Jubayr
  4. Ibn ʿAbbās
  5. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ A previously married woman has more right to her own person than her guardian, and a virgin is asked for her consent, and her silence is her assent.
