machine translationOthers besides ʿAmr have corroborated a similar narration from al-Zuhrī, so we were content with ʿAmr from al-Zuhrī, since he was trustworthy (thiqah). ʿIkrimah b. Khālid and Muḥammad b. al-Munkadir also narrated this hadith from Mālik b. Aws from ʿUmar, and they did not mention it from Abū Bakr. Mālik b. Aws is a memorizer (ḥāfiẓ), and he added to what those we named reported, and the addition of a memorizer is accepted when he adds it over another memorizer, for he added it only by virtue of his memory. A group also narrated it from Abū Bakr from the Prophet ﷺ, among them ʿĀʾishah, Abū Hurayrah and others.
