حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ شَيْخٍ أَحْمَقَ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ، فَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا ثِنْتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً؛ يُكَبِّرُ إِذَا سَجَدَ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ. فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَا أُمَّ لَكَ، تِلْكَ سُنَّةُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ

Translation

✧ I said to Ibn Abbas: I prayed behind a foolish old man the noon prayer, and he said twenty-two takbirs in it; he said takbir when he prostrated and when he raised his head from prostration. Ibn Abbas said: May you lose your mother! That is the sunnah of Abu al-Qasim ﷺ.
