✧ I brought some dinars of mine, and I wanted to exchange them. Talha b. Ubaydullah met me, and he exchanged them and took them. He said, 'Wait until my treasurer comes.' Abu Amir said: 'from the forest.' And he said about all of it: '[Hand to hand.]' He said: So I asked Umar b. al-Khattab about that, and he said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Gold for silver is usury unless hand to hand; wheat for wheat is usury unless hand to hand; barley for barley is usury unless hand to hand; dates for dates is usury unless hand to hand.'
