حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّعَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ
اتَّزِرُوا، وَارْتَدُوا، وَانْتَعِلُوا وَأَلْقُوا الْخِفَافَ وَالسَّرَاوِيلَاتِ، وَأَلْقُوا الرُّكُبَ وَانْزُوا نَزْوًا، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمَعَدِّيَّةِ، وَارْمُوا الْأَغْرَاضَ، وَذَرُوا التَّنَعُّمَ وَزِيَّ الْعَجَمِ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحَرِيرَ؛ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُ، وَقَالَ: لَا تَلْبَسُوا مِنَ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا، وَأَشَارَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ.

✧ Wear the izar, and the rida', and sandals, and cast off the khuffs and sirwals. Cast off the stirrups and leap. Adhere to the Ma'addi way, shoot at targets, and abandon soft living and the dress of the foreigners. Beware of silk, for the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade it, and said: 'Do not wear silk except what is like this,' and the Messenger of God ﷺ gestured with his two fingers.
