✧ Umar used to swear on three oaths, saying: 'By God, no one is more entitled to this wealth than anyone else, and I am not more entitled to it than anyone. By God, there is no Muslim who does not have a share in this wealth except a possessed slave, but we are according to our stations from the Book of God, the Exalted, and our distribution from the Messenger of God ﷺ. So the man and his trials in Islam, and the man and his precedence in Islam, and the man and his service in Islam, and the man and his need. And by God, if I remain for them, the shepherd on the mountain of San'a' will surely receive his portion of this wealth while he is tending his place.'
