Translation

✧ Umar met Abdullah b. al-Sa'di, and he mentioned its meaning, except that he said: 'Give it in charity, [and he said: do not] let yourself pursue it.'

Yaḥyā al-Ṣadafī narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, from ʿUmar, and he erred in it with an ugly error. As for Yazīd b. Khuṣayfah, he narrated from al-Sāʾib b. Yazīd that ʿUmar said to Ibn al-Saʿdī, and he also did not mention Ḥuwayṭib. Bukayr b. al-Ashajj narrated it from Busr b. Saʿīd, saying from Ibn al-Saʿdī, from ʿUmar; al-Layth b. Saʿd said that from Bukayr. Ibn ʿAjlān differed from him, and there is disagreement about him. Al-Thawrī said from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Bukayr, from Ibn al-Saʿdī, from ʿUmar, and did not mention Busr b. Saʿīd. Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān differed from him and narrated it from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Yaʿqūb b. al-Ashajj, the brother of Bukayr, from Busr b. Saʿīd, from ʿUmar, and did not mention Ibn al-Saʿdī.
