✧ From the saying of Abu Darda, A'wwamir

حَدَّثَنَا هَيْثَمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَقِيقَةٌ. وَمَا بَلَغَ عَبْدٌ حَقِيقَةَ الْإِيمَانِ حَتَّى يَعْلَمَ أَنَّ مَا أَصَابَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَهُ، وَمَا أَخْطَأَهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُصِيبَهُ.

Translation

✧ For everything there is a reality. And a servant does not attain the reality of faith until he knows that what afflicts him was never meant to miss him, and what misses him was never meant to afflict him.
