✧ She saw the Prophet ﷺ from a small door while he was hastening in the middle of the watercourse, saying: The valley is not crossed except with speed. And I think he said: The garment had been uncovered from his knees. Then Hammad said afterwards: It is not crossed—or he said: al-Abtah—except with speed. And she heard him say: al-Abtah is not crossed except with speed.

machine translationBudayl b. Maysarah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Hishām al-Dastuwāʾī and Abū ʿĀmir Ṣāliḥ b. Rustum al-Khazzāz narrated it from Budayl, from Ṣafiyyah, from the mother of a child (umm walad) of Shaybah. Ḥammād b. Zayd differed from them and narrated it from Budayl, from al-Mughīrah b. Ḥakīm, from Ṣafiyyah, from the mother of a child (umm walad) of Shaybah. Ḥammād's version is more likely (ashbah).
