✧ The first to deny was Adam—he said it three times. When Allah created him, He wiped his back and brought out his offspring, presenting them to him. He saw among them a man who was radiant. He said: O Lord, who is this? He said: Your son Dawud. He said: How long is his lifespan? He said: Sixty years. He said: O Lord, increase his lifespan. He said: No, unless you increase it for him from your own lifespan. So he gave him forty years from his lifespan. Allah wrote a decree for him and made the angels witnesses to it. When He wanted to take his soul, he said: Forty years remain of my term. It was said to him: You gave them to your son Dawud. He said: Then he denied. He said: Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, brought out the decree and established the proof against him. So He completed it for Dawud as one hundred years, and He completed for Adam his lifespan as one thousand years.
