حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَفْرِدُوا بِالْحَجِّ وَدَعُوا قَوْلَ هَذَا يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ ابْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ أَلَا تَسْأَلُ أُمَّكَ عَنْ هَذَا؟ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ

صَدَقَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حُجَّاجًا فَأَمَرَنَا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا عُمْرَةً فَحَلَّ لَنَا الْحَلَالُ حَتَّى سَطَعَتْ الْمَجَامِرُ بَيْنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالرِّجَالِ

✧ Ibn ‘Abbas spoke the truth. We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as pilgrims, and he commanded us, so we made it an ‘umrah, and what is lawful became lawful for us, until the perfume burners sent forth their fragrance among the women and the men.
