حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ قَابُوسَ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُخَارِقِ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ قَالَتْ

رَأَيْتُ كَأَنَّ فِي بَيْتِي عُضْوًا مِنْ أَعْضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ. قَالَتْ: فَجَزِعْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ. فَقَالَ: خَيْرًا رَأَيْتِ، تَلِدُ فَاطِمَةُ غُلَامًا فَتَكْفُلِينَهُ بِلَبَنِ ابْنِكِ قُثَمَ. قَالَتْ: فَوَلَدَتْ حَسَنًا فَأُعْطِيتُهُ فَأَرْضَعْتُهُ حَتَّى تَحَرَّكَ - أَوْ فَطَمْتُهُ -. ثُمَّ جِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَجْلَسْتُهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ فَبَالَ، فَضَرَبْتُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ. فَقَالَ: ارْفُقِي بِابْنِي رَحِمَكِ اللهُ - أَوْ أَصْلَحَكِ اللهُ - أَوْجَعْتِ ابْنِي. قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اخْلَعْ إِزَارَكَ، وَالْبَسْ ثَوْبًا غَيْرَهُ حَتَّى أَغْسِلَهُ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا يُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ، وَيُنْضَحُ بَوْلُ الْغُلَامِ

Translation

✧ I saw as if in my house a limb from the limbs of the Messenger of God ﷺ. She said: I was alarmed by that, so I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mentioned it to him. He said: "You have seen good. Fatimah will give birth to a boy and you will foster him with the milk of your son Qutham." She said: She gave birth to Hasan, and I was given him and nursed him until he moved about — or I weaned him —. Then I brought him to the Messenger of God ﷺ and seated him in his lap, and he urinated, so I struck him between his shoulders. He said: "Be gentle with my son, may God have mercy on you — or may God set you right — you have hurt my son." She said: I said: "O Messenger of God, remove your lower garment and put on another garment so that I can wash it." He said: "Only the urine of a girl is washed, and the urine of a boy is sprinkled with water."
