حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ
أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ اسْتُحِيضَتْ، وَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ فِي مِرْكَنٍ لَهَا فَتَخْرُجُ وَهِيَ عَالِيَةُ الصُّفْرَةِ وَالْكُدْرَةِ، فَاسْتَفْتَتْ لَهَا أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: تَنْتَظِرُ أَيَّامَ قُرْئِهَا - أَوْ أَيَّامَ حَيْضِهَا - فَتَدَعُ فِيهِ الصَّلَاةَ. وَتَغْتَسِلُ فِيمَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ، وَتَسْتَثْفِرُ بِثَوْبٍ وَتُصَلِّي
Translation

✧ Fāṭimah had prolonged bleeding (istiḥāḍah), and she used to bathe in a large basin of hers and come out with a high degree of yellowness and duskiness. Umm Salamah asked the Messenger of God ﷺ for a ruling for her, and he said: She should wait for the days of her menstrual period — or the days of her menstruation — and refrain from prayer during them; and she should bathe for the rest, wrap a cloth firmly around herself, and pray.
