✧ Marwān b. al-Ḥakam sent him to Umm Salamah and ‘Ā’ishah. He said: I met her servant Nāfi‘ and sent him to her, and he asked her. He said: He returned to me and informed me that she said: The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janābah and wake up fasting. He said: Then he sent me to ‘Ā’ishah, and I met her servant Dhakwān and sent him to her. He returned to me and informed me that she said: The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of janābah from intercourse, not from a wet dream, and then wake up fasting. He said: So I came to Marwān and informed him, and he said: I adjure you to go to Abū Hurayrah and inform him of it. He said: So I went to him and informed him, and he said: They know better.
